About Yagyas

Yajna (Sanksrit :संस्कृत Yajna; also anglicized as Yagya, Yagna or Anushthan) is actually a fire ritual, performed to attain a number of wishes. Yajna is often also called ‘Homa or Havana’, however, these are totally different rituals.
Yajnas — the sacrificial rituals were instrumental to establish the human-divine link. Different offerings are made in sacred fire along with chants of Vedic hymns for the attainment of divine favours such as good crop, cattle, good weather, progeny, good health, happiness of any kind, etc.

Please tell Panditji I have truly already experienced miracles! My mind is calmer and my marriage has experienced a huge shift as well.

I look forward to doing more work in the future.

It is a great joy to write to you about how my health has improved dramatically since you started the yagnyas!

My heartfelt gratitude to the VedicYagya Center. My husband’s first surgery was very rough, so I ordered Daily Rudrabhishekam Yagyas for him. During the second surgery, you held three days of Ganapathy Tarpanam yagyas for him. This surgery went much better. He is now home and recuperating well. I trust he will continue recovering well, thanks to the yagyas.

I am very pleased with the results and I thank you very much. In fact, my nephew, this baby a few days is still hospitalized because of an alarming drop of his blood platelets. Today, these platelets have doubled in quantity without any medication. Punditji thank you, Thank Punditji, Thank Punditji and JAI GURU DEV

What is a Homa/Yagya, and How do they work?

A Homa/Yagya is a Vedic ritual performed to enliven the Natural Law for a specific desired effect. A Yagya is a Sacred Vedic elaborate ritual with a specific intended result, which is performed in a precise manner and at a specific time as prescribed in the Sacred Vedic Scriptures. These rituals can only be performed by trained Vedic priests/pundits. The knowledge and procedures of performing Yagyas were passed down by ancient Maha Rishis and Saints to their disciples, and this Divine knowledge was further passed down to us from generation to generation. Yagyas were a regular part of the individual and community life in ancient Vedic civilization.

As spiritual beings living in the human experience, we can choose to rely exclusively on our worldly resources, or we can petition the aid of our allies in the divine realms. By contacting the celestial field of life through the Yagya, the Vedic priest appeals to Deities for their intervention, seeks their help through this Divine energy, and asks for grace on behalf of the person requesting the Yagya to yield the desired effects. With the support of the Divine, and with the support of nature, one is able to easily achieve desired results, such as improved health, prosperity, spiritual enlightenment, and so on.

The response from the Divine is mysterious by its very nature, but it is not magical. Results are sometimes dramatic, as seen in people who suffer from terrible diseases. However, the Yagya/Homa itself does not take away the disease—it helps to clear away karmic obstacles so that the doctor’s treatments can be effective. For example, Yagya/Homa remedies work like an umbrella in the rain. If rain is destined to come, no one can change it. However, just like an umbrella is used to protect your body from the rain, Yagyas help in reducing the effect of negative Karma by reducing the intensity of any disasters that life brings to a bearable level, thus saving one who performs the Yagya/Homa.

So, we don’t claim that we can change every condition. We do all that we can so that the infusion of Divine intervention can help to make life smoother, easier, and more positive. These Vedic rituals work like, as one may say, an insurance policy for an individual, family or businesses and can even be done for the benefit of the world like global welfare, peace & tranquility.

Just like pouring water at the roots of the tree will help it to blossom and produce beautiful flowers and fruit, offering prayers and offerings to the God of Fire during Yagyas/Homas can help achieve the desired result. However, the results may vary depending on the person’s personal ‘Negative or Positive Karmic level’, their faith, dedication, and many other factors. Like it is said in the Shastras – depending on the karmas of the previous birth, one will endure difficulties in life such as diseases, financial troubles, disappointments etc. These can be reduced in intensity or neutralized through the methods of treatments, charity, performance of Japa, Homa/Yagyas, or other such good deeds. The same concept has been quoted from the sacred scriptures below –

“पूर्व जन्म कृतम् पापं व्याधिरूपेण बाधते । तच्छांतिः औषधैः दानैः जप होम क्रियादिभिः ॥“
“Poorva Janma kritam papam vyadhi roopena badhatey I Tat shanthihi aushadaihi danaihi japa homa kriyadibhihi II”

How can one save him/herself from severe difficulties? How to find out when one needs help?

Well, there is a saying in Sanskrit – “हेयम् दुःखमनागतम् “
“Heyum dukham anagatham II” “avert the danger that has not yet come.”

Astrology is the Divine Shastra (Divine Subject)  that has evolved from Sacred Vedic Texts for the purpose of predicting the future. This Astrological science is based on the date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth, and is connected directly to one’s natal chart and moon constellations. Using this information, along with some Astrological calculations, an astrological expert can predict the future of a person depending on the planet’s movements in his/her natal chart. Astrological Science in Sanskrit is known as ‘Jyotishya Vidya’ – ‘Jyoti’ means light, and ‘Isya’ means ‘Ishwara,’ or ‘Lord.’ Together, it means ‘The light that leads towards the Lord’. Light by the means of peace, happiness and contentment leads one to the Lord through self-realization in life. So, with the help of Astrology, one can avert danger before it arrives with the help of Homas/Yagyas.

Purpose of a Yagya/Homa
The purpose of a Yagya/Homa is to create life-supporting effects using the laws of nature and to help amend or avoid any unwanted tendency before it manifests. They help to eliminate or reduce negativity in life, while at the same time bringing additional support for maximum success and fulfillment. By counteracting past negative karma (which is the result of actions we have taken in the past), the Yagyas help in creating positive karma for the future. Therefore, one can say that Homas/Yagyas are the most reliable and proven remedial measures through which one can avert any possible danger or reduce negativity in life.

Yagyas provide remedies to help resolve problems in various spheres of life. They are designed to solve specific health problems, financial problems, relationship problems, to balance a difficult Astrological/Jyotish period, to encourage a good event to occur, for protection, to gain support for the fulfillment of a specific personal or business-related desire, or to enhance evolution and spiritual growth. Depending on the nature of the difficulties that could exist in nature, the Vedas have prescribed many kinds of Homas/Yagyas to tackle almost all kinds of situations. Sometimes, just like in medical science, one must do a combination of multiple things to deal with the situation and yield desired effects. This is the same with Homas/Yagyas, in that sometimes, multiple of these rituals need to be performed to get the best results. This, as mentioned before, depends on various factors like the nature of the problem, the time, and the intensity of the situation. These must also be conducted only by a well-qualified person who has thorough knowledge and experience in these matters.

If you need more information on Yagyas details, please contact Pundit C. S. Samavedula through his email: cs@vydic.org

Some of the vital information like date of birth, time of birth, place of birth, and gotra will be collected. The Yagya will be performed on the day you have selected.
The Importance of Yagyas/Vedic Remedies and its Origin
A Yagya is a Vedic process (prescribed by the Sacred Vedic Texts and practiced by Saints and Sages over a long period of time with proven positive results) for the benefit of humanity through bringing them into harmony with all the forces of nature by using the Cosmic Power of the Five Natural elements, Nature’s support, Divine intervention, and blessings. Yagyas/Homas enliven natural law for a specific desired effect.

Yagyas originated and evolved from the Vedas. The Vedas (Sanskrit वेद véda, “knowledge”) are a large body of sacred texts originating in ancient India. Composed in Vydic Sanskrit (the world’s most ancient language), these texts constitute the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism forming the culture’s very soul and essence. Vedas are the living and never-ending proof of the Sanathana Dharma.

Vedas are known in Sanskrit as ‘Apoorusheyyam’ – meaning that which were not written or composed by any ‘Purusha’ (means any man or mankind). It is of Divine Origin, Eternal Truth and hence their origin is impossible to trace as they existed even before the origin of mankind. Vedas have been directly revealed by God Himself to mankind, and thus are called śruti (“what is heard”) and were heard by the Rishis when they were in their deep Yoga / Tapas or Samadhi in a specific ‘Swaram’ or certain special Tone (Sound with specific defined wavelength rhythm).

These were then passed on by these Rishis to their Disciples in the exact way as they were heard. The Most Sacred Vedas have been passed on traditionally for innumerable generations from the time unknown.

How do Yagyas influence us?
Yes, Yagyas can and will have an influence on one and all. It is a specific Vedic Science where Vedic Scientific Technology is applied to attain certain positive results using the support of nature, Vedic Wisdom, and different branches of Vedic texts such as Vedas, Astrology, Mantras, etc.
What are the different Vedic Yagya Remedy Processes?
There are many forms of Vedic processes like Pooja, Homa, Japa, Tarpana, Dana, and Yagya (and more that are less known to the public). Commonly, the people in the west know all these different processes by the name of ‘Yagya’ only. But there are differences between them all

This is a much simpler form used for daily practice for all. In this form of ceremonial worship, Lord is worshipped by 16 forms of ‘Upacharas’ to the Deities. This could range from a simple and short daily rite in common households to an elaborate one such as in established Temples.

Homa (also known as Homam or Havan) is a ritual in which offerings are made into a consecrated fire. This is a Fire Ceremony done on a smaller scale.

Japa is a Vedic process involving the meditative repetition of a mantra or the name of God for a certain number of times as a regular practice. The time period for doing a Japa could vary from a short brief one to a very long time. This will enhance the spiritual strength of the doer.

Tarpanam is the recitation of the related mantra done to the relevant Deity, leaving some rice grains with some sacred water in front of the picture or statue form of the related Deity in a plate. This water is left in a river or near any plant or tree. This will then merge into the environment and blend with the level of consciousness, thus gaining the support of nature for the Sankalpa and helps in achieving the desired target.

Dana (giving a specific offering)
This step of the process comes at the end of Yagya remedies to unfold and transmit the Yagya’s energy to the sponsor in the form of giving a specific offering to a specific deity, or a specific planet.

This is a very powerful one and has many different forms of offerings that are made to the Sacred fire accompanied with many sacred chantings, simultaneously. There are many kinds of Yagyas. This can be done only with the help a Vedic Pandit, one who has been specifically trained for performing these Yagyas. These Yagyas can fulfill a particular desire or eliminate any upcoming problems in one’s life. This is a very Saatvik and divine way of remedy to help one with worldly problems.
